Summary

This job opportunity is for an SUPERVISORY HR SPEC, position description NGT5023000 , within NJNG J1 HRO. This vacancy announcement is a Title 5, Excepted Service position.

This position is located in the JFHQ-State Human Resources Office (HRO). This position is required to supervise a minimum of five (5) Human Resources Specialists and Human Resources Assistants servicing both Army and Air employees and may serve as the higher-level reviewer (second-line supervisor) where appropriate.

Duties

Help

As an SUPERVISORY HR SPEC, GS-0201-12, you will:

  • Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management.
  • Selects or recommends selection of candidates for vacancies, promotions, details, and reassignments in consideration of skills and qualifications, mission requirements, and EEO objectives. Develops, modifies, and/or interprets performance standards.
  • Develop and conduct briefings, point papers, and data analysis on human resources matters.
  • Provide oversight, training, and procedural guidance to Commander's Support Staffs.
  • Ensures data is compliant with legislation, OPM, DoD, DA, DAF, NGB, regulations, and publications.
  • Supervises and manages the initiation and administration of disciplinary and non-disciplinary adverse actions.
  • Skill in analyzing complex operational and business problems involving issues for serviced functions.
  • Skill in writing clear, concise, explanations of policy, regulations, decision documents and etc. for various audiences.
  • Skill in advising managers and supervisors of HR program flexibilities and recommending alternatives.

Qualifications

General Experience: Experience, education or training which involves the exercise of analytical ability, judgment, discretion, and personal responsibility, and application of a substantial body of knowledge of principles, concepts and practices applicable to one or more fields of administration or management. Experience using computer and automation systems.

Specialized Experience: Must have at least 36 months experience, education, or training involving the administering, delivering, maintaining, advising, and adapting advanced concepts, principles, and theories of Human Resources to the unique organizational, management, and mission requirements. Experience assisting in the development of Human Resources policies and procedures. Experience advising management on Human Resources principles and practices.Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
