Duties

Help

As an AIRCRAFT PNEUDRAULIC SYSTEMS MECHANIC, WG-8268-10, you will:

  • Perform leak checks of aircraft fuel systems by visual inspection or by removal of panels
  • Repair, reassemble, and install fuel system components
  • Perform operational and functional checks to insure proper operation
  • Participate in various types of readiness evaluations

-Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service

Title 32 Dual-Status Positions:

Military Grade:

Min: A1C/E-3 and Max: TSgt/E-6

Security Clearance

Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance within 1(One) Year of appointment.

Title 32 Dual-Status Positions: Compatible Military Assignments

Appointments may require the selected candidate to be assigned to a *military unit* compatible with the full-time Military Technician (Dual Status) position.

*Military Unit* -- The unit by which the individual is employed as a Military Technician (Dual Status) employee; or a unit that the individual is employed as a Military Technician (Dual Status) employee to support. (Guidance established by NJ HRO-J1)

Qualifications

General Experience:
Experience or training which demonstrates your knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical principles; knowledge of troubleshooting procedures used to isolate malfunctions in aircraft pneudraulic systems; and ability to use technical manuals, equipment specifications, and test calibration procedures in performing the work.

Specialized Experience:
Must at least 18 months of specialized experience which demonstrates basic electrical and mechanical principles.

  • Fabricating fuel, oil, and vacuum hose lines
  • Servicing, maintaining, disassembling assembling, repairing, and testing hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Diagnosing trouble and determining remedies
  • Mechanic repairs using hand tools and test equipment
  • Demonstrating the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications and publications
