Duties

Help

Provides the professional leadership, vision and direction needed to establish Air Force goals, objectives and priorities of the diverse Air Force Aero Club Program. Assists with developing and formulating plans, procedures, standards, operating instructions, manuals, training materials, pamphlets and guides for the development, implementation, promotion, marketing, operations, safety, and financial management of Air Force Aero Club activities worldwide. Provides guidance, assistance and consulting services to bases, MAJCOMs, and Air Staff and Federal Agencies, verifying sound management practices. Assists with organizing, scheduling, and conducting technical training and workshops to assist in meeting training needs. Reviews, evaluates and tracks data concerning budget, safety, participation, operating procedures and other information upon which to evaluate the overall Air Force program. Uses professional expertise and leadership skills to promote the continual improvement of personnel, their training, service, flight operations, maintenance and other significant aspects within the scope of Aero Club operations. Periodically performs staff assistance visits and inspections to evaluate policies and operations. Maintains and produces reports from data based information. Advises bases and MAJCOMs on computerized management information systems related to Aero Club operations. May be required to travel in military and/or Aero Club aircraft. Performs other related duties as assigned

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience:

Experience with a wide range of concepts, principles, and practices relating to the development, administration and operations of Air Force Aero Clubs. Comprehensive experience with the operation of all aspects of general flight operations i.e. personnel, budgeting, asset protection, flight safety, flight training, aircraft maintenance, management, planning, customer relations, etc. Experience with developing and writing instructions, procedures and other correspondence to support the Aero Club Program. Experience developing new methods, approaches and procedures to assist bases and MAJCOMs in improving Aero Club operations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

  1. Possession of a valid FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate and valid FAA Certified Flight Instructor Certificate is desired.
