Duties

Help

Assist with the operation and function of the snack bar, on course golf activities, and pro shop at the Kadena Golf Courses. Monitors the physical condition of the snack bar and pro shop. Assist management with enforcing all golf course policies and procedures. Demonstrates and sells merchandise. Keeps supervisor abreast of problems or concerns, for both employees and customers. Provides input for publicity requests and marketing exposures for the snack bar and golf course. Places orders for food and paper products. Oversees monthly inventory counts within the snack bar and pro shop. Performs cash handling duties and makes deposit. Ensure proper paperwork is completed in the cash handling process. Assist slot technicians to ensure the game room is operational and in compliance with Air Force standards. Will be responsible for overseeing the payout of jackpots, hand payments and malfunction reports processed by cashiers. Will assist with slot harvests and money deposits to the cash cage.

Assist with scheduling staff and ensures work assignment is being performed; Makes sure employees have knowledge and are in compliance of all policies & procedures; Resolve simple informal complaints of employees and provide on-the-job training; Identify training requirements to the supervisor; Provide input on employee performance; Maintains open communication between the supervisor and co-workers, maintenance, internal and external customers; Insures staff maintains a clean, safe, and efficient work environment at the Kadena Golf Courses and snack bar.

Tournaments, matches, and special event Duties: Schedules organize and conduct tournaments, matches, and special events. Assists with coordinating with hosting organization's point-of-contact in "cradle to grave" fashion for all tournaments and special events. Assists in organizing the established course-sponsored events. Provides information, customer service, product knowledge, basic instructional pointers, club fitting and miscellaneous equipment awareness to golf groups or event participants. Monitors the golf event/tournament to ensure rules are enforced and planned activities are carried out. Assists the staff golf professionals with instruction programs, teaching clinics, and group lessons for youth and adults. Performs other related duties as required. Position is a position of trust.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience:
Must have experience in the game of golf and knowledge of the rules and procedures of a golf course and tournaments. Must have cash accountability experience. Must have prior experience working tournaments at a golf course or experience in organizing sporting events. Skills in operating a computer, using Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Excel) are required. Must have substantial golf-playing experience. Ability to solve simple arithmetic problems is required. Satisfactory completion of a National Agency Check is required. Ability to communicate in Japanese is desirable.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify.
