Summary

This National Guard position is for a IT SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN/NETWORK SERVICES), Position Description Number T6332P01 and is part of the 224 ADG, National Guard.

As an IT SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN/NETWORK SERVICES) GS-2210-12, you will serve as unit level manager/monitor for telecommunication systems plans, policies, procedures, and program management for the Eastern Air Defense Sector (EADS) Plans Section (SCXP). Also, serves as the Communication and Information Systems (SC) Configuration Manager (CM) and liaison between the SCXP section and EADS Information Assurance (IA) team, providing communication link with higher headquarters and detachment CMs and plans teams.

May be required to successfully complete a 2 year trial period.
Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position within one year of appointment.
The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station
The employee may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft.
Recall to duty may be a requirement of this position.
Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
Incumbent must be eligible for a TS/SCI security clearance (Special Compartmented Information), as required by duty location.
Qualifications
GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
Experience, education, and/or training that has provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles that enabled the applicant to understand the stages required to automate a work process. Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. Leading a team to review plans and orders to include: Contingency Plans (CONPLANs), Operational Plans (OPLANs), Operations Orders (OPORDs), Execution Orders (EXORDs) …etc. from the communications perspective. Prepares or reviews all Annex Ks to ensure communications considerations are addressed. Implementing telecommunication programs and special projects. Serves as a project management officer responsible for the successful implementation of various telecommunications programs/projects.

This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration. Head of Agency requests to exceed 14 days in a calendar year must be approved in advance by the National Guard, Director of Manpower and Personnel.
