Duties

Help
  • Serve as a senior journeyman to install, repair, modify, and troubleshoot a variety of special, precision, and commercial type of electronic testing equipment.
  • Write and develop programs using manufacturers’ format language, establishing specific parameters for testing and evaluating a variety of subsystems such as wire harnesses, cables, circuit boards, etc.
  • Perform repairs, maintenance, calibration, and final certification of complex computer-based systems and automated test equipment used in conjunction with overhauling missile system.
  • Work with higher grade employees to perform analysis of modification status, operation, calibration and correlation of various missile electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic test sets, launcher assemblies and cable repair.

  • The applicant must pass a pre-employment physical and subsequent periodic medical examinations in accordance with DoD 6055-5-M. Applicant must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • CONUS and OCONUS travel may be required 10% of the time as directed by management.
  • This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible for this position.
  • Incumbent required to acquire the Comp-TIA Security +, IPC/WHMA-A-620 and IPC-JSTD-001 Certifications within 1 year of start date.
  • This position is subject to pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter in compliance with the Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Program.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Electronic Measurement Equipment Mechanic without more than normal supervision. Ability to perform common test equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and repair. Ability to operate computer-based systems and automated test equipment used in conjunction with overhauling missile systems that includes electronic theory, assembly and installation; and the ability to use hand and power tools. Working under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

  • Physical Effort: Work assignments require light to moderate physical effort. There is frequent lifting, carrying, and handling of items weighing 10-40 pounds and occasionally over 40 pounds. Work is performed in a sitting position for extended periods and frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching is required.
  • Working Conditions: Work is normally well-light, heated, and ventilated; however some assignments may require performance under variable conditions or within clean room environments when special garments such as head/shoe coverings are required. There is the possibility of injuries such as cuts, bruises, burns caused by electrical shock, RF energy and soldering irons.

Education
