The Cardiology Section at VA Boston Healthcare System (VABHS) invites applications for Fee Basis positions as Cardiologists. The successful candidates will participate in the general cardiology inpatient and outpatient service at West Roxbury campus. The position involves staffing one of three inpatient consult service including a consult service assessing inpatient and outpatient consults, or the inpatient service accepting admissions for a variety of cardiology conditions. The position involves managing and teaching residents, Nurse Practitioners, and cardiovascular disease fellows in inpatient venues. Accomplishments should be commensurate with academic appointment as Instructor, Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor of Medicine. VABHS is a multi-campus tertiary care medical center that provides a full range of patient care services along with nationally recognized education and innovative research activities. We have major affiliations with Harvard Medical School and Boston University Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine. VABHS has one of the largest research programs in VA with several federally funded research centers, including VA's signature genetic repository, the Million Veteran Program, which offer significant collaborative opportunities. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday. This is a fee basis position with tours of 5 days a week on an intermittent basis depending on availability of the applicant and the needs of the service. No weekend or evening coverage.
To qualify for this position, you must meet the basic requirements as well as any additional requirements (if applicable) listed in the job announcement. Applicants pending the completion of training or license requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met. Currently employed physician(s) in VA who met the requirements for appointment under the previous qualification standard at the time of their initial appointment are deemed to have met the basic requirements of the occupation.
