Duties

Help
  • You will troubleshoot, install, modify, maintain, and repair electronic and electrical components on all types of Weight Handling Equipment (WHE).
  • You will diagnose (troubleshoot), determine needed repairs, and accomplish the required restorations with proper documentation.
  • You will review assigned jobs and determine the sequence of work and additional parts and materials necessary to affect a completed repair job with a minimum equipment downtime.

  • You will troubleshoot electrical systems, locates problems and correctly isolate faults to a component level.
  • You will make repairs and electrical adjustments as necessary to ensure the standards are met and that the completed job meets all applicable safety standards.

  • Experience installing, operating and troubleshooting sophisticated circuitry and controls associated with unique operations of all category cranes to include portal, cab operated, and non-cab operated cranes.
  • Experience repairing, overhauling, modifying, and resolving complex problems on all types of AC and DC electrical motors, junction boxes, generators, voltage regulators, safety devices such as limit switches and contacts, and constant potential and varying voltage control panels.
  • Experience installing and repairing, overhauling, fabricating, tuning, aligning, modifying, calibrating, and testing of electrical and electronic equipment.
  • Experience formulating layout sketches of required electrical circuits, wiring new test setups, installing circuitry, and recording instruments for testing or operations.
WG-10
  • Experience fabricating, installing, modifying, and troubleshooting specialized electrical controls or monitoring systems and equipment designed to meet unique conditions associated with crane operations.
  • Experience making point to point circuit checks to isolate the faulty components and replacing, repairing, and/or adjusting the defective components.
  • Experience cleaning and inspecting circuit boards, switchboards, slip rings, brushes, commutators, and conducting megger checks on electrical components checking for premature failure.
  • Experience installing, testing, repairing, and making critical adjustments to various types of operational, load bearing, and operational safety devices.
