Duties

Help
  • Provides technician support by performing a wide variety of direct services to the public.
  • Registers patrons, charges/discharges materials, processes overdues and reserves, assists with interlibrary loans and reserves, shelves library materials, prepares displays, programs activities, answers basic reference questions.
  • Basic/copy cataloging, ordering/receiving/processing and de-acquisitioning of library materials.
  • Assists in maintaining accountability records and in performing shelf inventories.
  • Performs simple maintenance on the library's automated systems.
  • May perform physical activity such as long periods of standing, bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, pushing of loaded trucks; and recurring lifting of heavy items

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Incumbent may also required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
  • Must be available to work evenings, Saturdays and holidays
  • Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3.2
  • Physical is required.

Qualifications

A qualified candidate must possess the following:
One year of specialized experience at the next lower grade
Or
Two years of education above high school
Or
A combination of specialized experience and education that equates to 100% of the qualification requirements.

In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified":
1. Completed Library Science college coursework (transcripts required)
2. Experience in MS 365 Suite of Tools (Teams/SharePoint)

  • This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
