Duties

Help
  • You will audit examinations, remediation and financial systems.
  • You will develop and formulate budget request.
  • You will coordinate and provide input to contracted initiatives via the Regional Contracting Office (RCO).
  • You will advise staff on the status and availability of fund in various budget accounts and other applicable budget processes.
  • You will identify, define, develop and/or recommend systems or procedures to implement the financial management process.
  • You will review estimates submitted by program managers.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring obligations, expenditures, transfers of funds, and similar budgetary transactions are recorded and accounted for.

  • This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites. You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a Government time in service requirement of 12 months.
  • May be required to obtain a VISA dependent on the overseas country's laws/regulations.
  • You will be required to sign the Statement of Understanding for Overseas Employment acknowledging receipt and understanding of the statement of living and working conditions for this location.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This is a Financial Management Level 1 certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate qualifying experience in the following:

1) Developing, formulating budget requests and maintaining budget accounts for the command.
2) Ensuring obligations, expenditures, transfer of funds, and other budgetary transactions are recorded and accounted for.
3) Providing oversight and training on financial resource accountability
4) Reviewing estimates submitted by program managers for compliance with rules, regulations, and procedures.
5) Identifying, defining, developing, and/or recommending systems or procedures to implement the financial management processes.

Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

master's or equivalent graduate degree
or

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or

LL.B. or J.D., if related
or

have a combination of experience and graduate education as describe above that equates to one-year experience.

Several vacancies may be filled. Pay retention may be granted when certain conditions are met.

A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.
