Duties

Help
  • You will use maintenance and readiness databases (e.g., Maintenance and Material Management [3M], Current Ship's Maintenance Project [CSMP], , and Fleet Technical Support [FTS} systems to make material readiness assessments.
  • You will use computer software (e.g. Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access) to generate reports on department workload and mission situational briefs.
  • You will maintain a status tracking system of organizational workload to manage work commitments.
  • You will analyze ship maintenance and modernization business proposals to allocate time, manpower, or other requirements.
  • You will direct administrative functions required to execute the day to day operations of an organization.

  • This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites. You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a Government time in service requirement of 12 months.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • May be required to obtain a VISA dependent on the overseas country's laws/regulations.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Qualifications

Qualifications In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) Prioritizing Combat Systems (CS) and , Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) workloads for fleet technical support and field service engineering assignments;
2) Understanding how work requests are generated and brokered with Current Ships Maintenance Project (CSMP),Validation, Screening and Brokering (VSB) and Automated work requests (2Kilo/AWR);
3) Analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness of line program operations to meet established goals and objectives;
4) Interacting with ships Port Engineers and Maintenance Material Management Coordinators (3MCs) for up lining of work requests;
5) Using NAVSEA resources information systems, Identity Access Manager (IAM) Fleet Technical Support (FTS) and Time, Attendance, and Reporting (TA&R) to manage assessments and technical assistance requests.

Physical Demands: Work is primarily sedentary in nature, although slight physical effort may be required. Majority of the physical demands will be walking, lifting, stooping, reaching and climbing of steps or emergency stairways, if necessary. Eighty percent of the workday is low intense, includes sitting, speaking and standing. These factors are regular and recurring.

Work Environment: The work usually performed is in an office environment, adequately lighted, and climate controlled where normal safety precautions are practiced in an office. The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices and meeting rooms. You may experience a less comfortable environment to off-site facilities. These responsibilities may require a moderate frequency of travel to other Outside the Continental US(OCONUS) activities as well as to Commander naval Regional maintenance Center (CNRMC). Travel by commercial or military aircraft, vessels or vehicles may be required.

The incumbent may be required to perform duties at various job sites outside the normal commuting area. Approximately 10% temporary duty travel required. Travel may be on short notice and for extended periods. Travel by commercial or military aircraft, vessels or vehicles may be required.

Incumbent will be required to travel between the FDRMC detachments located in Rota, Spain and Manama, Bahrain to provide onsite training. Travel reimbursement is provided in accordance with the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR).

Priority consideration will be given to military spouse preference and family member preference eligible residing in the commute area of the duty location for this position. Commute area is defined as the geographic area surrounding the duty location in which people can reasonably be expected to travel back and forth daily.
