Duties

Help
  • You will advise commander on matters pertaining to Operations Security (OPSEC) to prevent an incident.
  • You will analyze current Physical Security procedures (e.g. storage, accountability, accessibility, and program configuration) to confirm security of the site.
  • You will analyze major security problems, mission vulnerabilities, security impacts to mission assurance, and convergence difficulties involving multiple security disciplines and other functional areas to identify key issues.
  • You will advise Navy staff and contractor personnel on policy, procedures, and interpretation of regulations covering visits of foreign representatives to government or commercial facilities.
  • You will conduct vulnerability assessments to confirm sufficient protection (e.g. property, information, material) for the organization.

  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Possesses knowledge of physical security concepts, and procedures used in support of Navy-wide security programs, a thorough knowledge of program analysis the techniques and mastery of effective communication (oral and written) in the area of physical security are required; 2) Possesses knowledge of personnel and physical security principles, practices, procedures and regulations applicable to the performance of a full range of security management responsibilities involving planning, organizing, directing operating, and evaluating the program with assistance from the Manpower Management Officer; 3) Plans and operates, with assistance from the Security Director/Deputy Director and other departments, a security program and the procedures, methods and techniques used. This ability involves recognizing and carrying out the continuous improvement of the program, the stimulation of the development and continuation of security consciousness and effective application of security procedures; 4) Demonstrates knowledgeable of all installation and tenant command missions, specific security concerns and problems, critical and vulnerable assets, current threat analysis and protection priorities and makes narrative and/or technical written reports covering each and all of the aforementioned; and 5) Possesses in-depth knowledge of the capabilities and applications of the substantial number of security systems, methodologies, procedures, and is required to make alterations of standardized systems or procedures as applicable to protect resources.
