Duties

Help

  • Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities at least 50% of the time
  • Manages as Force Support Personnel Chief (FSPD) under functions within the Military Personnel Flight
  • Provides interpretation and guidance to eight senior raters, 100+ squadron commanders, and members on all aspects of the promotion programs including; deadlines, board dates, supplemental consideration and all promotion releases
  • Advises commanders, supervisors, managers, and employees on various personnel programs
  • Assures the integrity of the military personnel data systems
  • Serves as a approving official for the Military Personnel Flight Government Purchase Card (GPC) account
  • Provides oversight of the installation passport and visa program as Head of Facility

  • Serves as the Deputy Flight Chief, assuming all Flight Chief/Flight Commander roles/responsibilities during any vacancies
  • May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hour and/or shift work may be required which may include overtime and/or irregular hours to meet program objectives or special needs.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year within 120 days of closing of this announcement, at the next lower broadband NH-02, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is knowledge and expertise of military personnel practices and programs in support of the organization's personnel management goals and mission requirements. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of and skill in applying a wide range of military personnel principals, policies, practices, analytical,diagnostic techniques, concepts, legal requirements, and methodology to gather facts, respond to questions,ensure regulatory compliance and provide advisory services to solve a wide range of complex military personnel problems and issues.
2. Analytical and diagnostic techniques and qualitative and quantitative techniques sufficient to identify,evaluate and recommend to management appropriate interventions to resolve complex interrelated personnel problems and issues. Ability to analyze facts, identify problems, report findings, make conclusions and recommend corrective or other appropriate actions.
3. Knowledge of techniques for developing new or modified personnel work methods, approaches or procedures for delivering effective personnel services to clients.
4. Knowledge of interrelationship of military personnel programs to properly refer managers and customers for assistance and technical problem solving.
5. Skill in written and oral communication techniques sufficient to develop and deliver briefings, project papers,status/staff reports, and correspondence to managers to foster understanding and acceptance of findings and recommendations.
6. Ability to use personal computers and related software applications in support of office functions.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

This is an acquisition demonstration project position NH-03 equivalent to a GS-12 to GS-13.
