Duties

Help

Typical work assignments may include the following:

  • Serving as a Quality Assurance Specialist in the Quality Assurance Surveillance Program (QASP) which supports the Construction Support Office (CSO) contract and alterations renovations projects.
  • Conducting in-depth evaluations and studies of contractors' QC or inspection manuals when the situation warrants and makes recommendations for improvements.
  • Completing inspection forms and other contract administration documentation for all aspects of contracted services and maintains supporting files.
  • Participating at engineering design reviews, pre-procurement planning and pre-award/post awards and quality review and quality deficiency investigation when applicable.

You may qualify at the GS-12 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector). Specialized experience includes overseeing complex construction quality management initiatives and costs to ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, contract specifications, regulatory requirements and industry standards; AND solving complex technical challenges and reviewing and evaluating contractor procedures, processes, work instructions, test plans and conducting quality control inspections.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
