What to expect

  • Responsible for assisting with planning, monitoring and oversight of annual and periodic inventories.
  • Verifies and conducts surveys of merchandise ensuring that items are disposed of in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Conducts random checks of cash register detail tapes and makes cash count verifications to determine compliance with cash handling procedures and/or to verify reported cash discrepancies.
  • Assists with ensuring inspections of MCCS weapons and ammunition are completed in support of MCCS AA&E requirements.
  • Collects, compiles and organizes information and data for projects, performs routine calculations in providing statistical data.
  • Facilitates methods for automating reports and correspondence to include creating user-friendly database programs to be utilized with minimal guidance.
  • Transmits correspondence, create reports, databases, spreadsheets, graphics, slide shows and presentations used by higher-level management.
  • Drafts written reports on analysis results to management that identify root causes and make recommendations based on sound management practices.
  • Plans and provides training for personnel and activities on operational issues as needed or requested.
  • Able to redact surveillance video as directed by SICI and in response to requests of various law enforcement and governmental agencies.
  • This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20lbs may be required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

"This may be a "covered position" for the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment to the Gun Control Act for Department of the Navy civilian personnel.  If the incumbent comes in contact with firearms, or ammunition in this position they must complete a DD Form 2760 certifying whether, or not they have ever obtained a "qualifying conviction" for a misdemeanor, or felony crime of domestic violence.  All covered employees have a continuing obligation to notify their supervisors through use of the DD Form 2760 if they obtain a qualifying conviction."

This is a non-critical sensitive position, if applicable, must be able to successfully obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance level background check.

What are we looking for?

  • Three years experience that demonstrates broad knowledge of the basic aspects of business, such as cost of goods sold, operating profit, direct and indirect expenses, and cash handling controls.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of accounting, auditing, and investigative techniques and procedures.
  • Knowledge of business operations such as; food service, recreation, retail and club activities.
  • Skill to organize and coordinate multiple high visibility projects simultaneously.
  • Skill to prepare documentation and presentations in proper format in accordance with naval correspondence.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer and use various software to create data bases and reports.
  • Knowledge of support functions such as gathering statistical data, monitoring and reporting on operational issues.
