Duties

Help

As a Chief Stationary Engineer, you will:

- Direct the operation, maintenance, and/or repair of the DCF's electric substation, high- and low-pressure steam distribution and condensate return systems for heating and humidification, air-conditioning and refrigerating systems, and air and water pressure systems throughout the DCF.
- Coordinate plans with subordinate Assistant Chief Stationary Engineers on the operation of the plants and on servicing and performing repairs on mechanical systems.
- Perform constant reviews on operating and servicing functions to provide continuous service and to prevent breakdowns.

  • A probationary or trial period may be required. Continued employment is contingent upon supervisory certification that continued employment will benefit the Federal Service; the certification will occur no less than 30 days before the end of the probationary/trial period.
  • A one-year supervisory or managerial probationary period may be required.

  • SUITABILITY, CLEARANCE & REQUIREMENTS: A background investigation will be required for all new hires.
