Duties

Help
  • As the Installation Lead SARC, the incumbent is responsible for all SHARP case management, and co-chairing/overseeing the execution of the installation monthly Case Management Group (CMG)/Sexual Assault Review Board (SARB)
  • (continued) and quarterly Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) meetings with the Senior Commander.
  • The incumbent serves as the focal point for the installation AOR in the areas of sexual harassment and sexual assault prevention and response.
  • As a member of the Senior Commander’s special staff, incumbent ensures that eligible victims and complainants have access to well-coordinated and highly responsive services.
  • Synchronizes all components of the installation SHARP prevention and response efforts; facilitates the flow of information among the prevention and response partners and direct support elements.
  • Ensures all SHARP personnel on the installation are appropriately screened, trained, certified, and appointed to perform duties.
  • The incumbent is authorized to perform duties as a SHARP Victim Advocate (VA) and will serves as the VA if requested.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a Tier 3 background investigation and enrollment in Continuous Vetting (CV) are required.
  • Incumbent is required to self-report civilian arrests, the filing of criminal charges, and/or convictions of any criminal offense to their supervisors.
  • Within six months of employment must successfully complete required Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) training and obtain and maintain DoD Sexual Assault Advocate Certification Program (D-SAACP) certification.
  • While waiting for training or completion of certification, the employee may be reassigned or detailed to a position that meets the employees’ qualifications and skills.
  • (continued) The detail or reassignment will be without promotion/demotion and will be until the DoD Sexual Assault Advocate Certificate is provided.
  • Must complete all required SHARP courses, obtain D-SAACP certification, and be placed on appointment orders prior to having any victim contact or access to victim information.
  • In the event that D-SAACP certification expires or is revoked, the individual is not authorized to serve in any SHARP position or perform SHARP duties until D-SAACP certification is reinstated.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have the ability to operate a motor vehicle should the need arise to operate a government vehicle/motor pool vehicle.
  • May be subject to occasional 24/7 on-call SARC responsibilities.
  • This position may require temporary duty (TDY) business travel up to 25% of the time.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) managing program activities that emphasize prevention of sexual harassment/assault and victim advocacy; and 2) gathering information to develop sexual harassment/assault policy and guidelines to achieve program objectives; and 3) providing advice on sexual harassment/assault to management and program support personnel; and 4) analyzing program data to identify trends or areas for improvement. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
