What to Expect

  • Advises and supports club managers, chefs, and cooks in areas such as menu planing, development, cost controls, sanitation, food presentation and employee training.
  • May prepare the budget for the food service operations and submit for approval. 
  • Ensures the requirements for the Child Development Centers food program are followed and reporting is done in a timely manner.
  • Develops standardized recipes and food specifications.
  • Responsible for making decisions as problems arise and establishing high standards for overall food service operations.
  • This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance.  
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

What are we looking for?

  • Minimum of two year culinary arts degree, with three years' experience, one year at supervisory level OR four years' work experience as an Executive Chef.  
  • Prefer individuals with Certified Executive Chef (CEC) or Certified Chef de Cuisine (CCC) certification that have a strong Hotel, Conference/Convention Center, and/or Contract experience.
  • Professional knowledge and experience in the principles, practices and procedures of food management of a multi-facility food operation.
  • Ability to perform routine management functions such as planning, scheduling, maintaining records/reports, and coordination of the Club's food services, demonstrating a thorough knowledge of basic principles, techniques, and practices required for a successful operation.
  • Possess general knowledge of prices, dietetics, grades of food, and meal planning.
  • Knowledge and ability to skillfully apply new methods in managing food service and equip employees for expert performance in the occupation.
