Duties

Help
  • Opens and unpacks cartons of materials and removes contents. Moves or uses hand truck to move various items requiring delivery or storage. Sets up and breaks down multi-functional areas. Arranges mobile furniture, movable walls, light equipment, etc.
  • Polices assigned areas, collects and disposes of trash and debris, cuts grass and pulls weeds, waters grass and flower beds, spreads mulch, and rakes leaves. Shovels snow and outs down salt.
  • Sweeps, vacuums, mops, and waxes floors. Uses industrial household cleaners to clean, disinfect and deodorize windows, mirrors, fixtures, and facilities. Replenishes supplies as necessary.
  • Dusts and polishes furniture. Empties trash.
  • Reports facility condition to supervisor including the need for repairs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Must be able to occasionally lift 45 pounds with assistance.
  • Must be able to actively bend, stoop, stand, reach, and work in awkward positions.
  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Must be available to work rotating shifts.
  • Must be willing to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Must attend Team Member Orientation within the first thirty (30) days of employment.
  • This is a flexible position. Flexible positions have no guaranteed hours. A flexible employee serves in a continuing position on a scheduled or as needed basis.
  • Must be able to frequently lift and carry moderate objects up to 30 pounds.
  • Occasionally 45 pounds with assistance.

Qualifications

1. Three (3) months of laboring experience required.
2. Must have the ability to use, control and clean tools and power equipment used, and ability to follow oral and/or written instructions involving duties with several distinct tasks or steps without constant supervision of each task assigned.

This experience must be reflected on your resume to be considered eligible for this position.

Best Qualified Criteria:
Six (6) months experience with small engine repair.
AND
Twelve (12) months experience as a laborer or similar experience.

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following competencies.


SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE:
The ability to perform simple manual tasks, and knowledge of cleaning, grounds maintenance, and lifting procedures. Skill and knowledge to safely operate and perform routine maintenance on hand tools and equipment (rake, pitch folk, wheelbarrow, hand-pump sprayer, hand truck, shovel, push lawn mower, hammer, screwdriver, wrench, pliers). Ability to understand common signs and read general instructions.

PCS Costs
  • Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
FWS Allowances and Differentials
  • This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position.
  • All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee.
Incentives and Bonuses
  • Incentives will not be paid.
Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
