Duties

Help
  • Performs a variety of tasks performing several steps or sequences of tasks to work operations in a kitchen or dining area. Responsible for proper slicing of deli meats and cheeses and cutting of fruits and vegetables for garnish.
  • In accordance with current menu, prepares and combines fruits and vegetables for salads. Makes simple sandwiches and performs other simple food preparation. May operate a beverage (alcoholic and/or non-alcoholic) cart on the golf course.
  • In accordance with customer’s orders, processes and organizes food, arranges garnishes, checks for appearance, quality and quantity and ensures proper presentation in accordance with set standards.
  • Operates a cash register. Cleans kitchen utensils, pots, pans, storage containers, as well as sweeping and mopping the floor. Restocks storeroom, walk in refrigerator/freezer, front line refrigerators, freezers, coolers, and dry goods.
  • Responsible for cleaning of dining area, to include but not limited to wiping tables, chairs, emptying the trash, and vacuuming. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2.
  • Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally controlled facilities.
  • Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and minimum of 4hours refresher training annually.
  • Must meet state/local age requirements for the serving of alcoholic beverage at the time of appointment, if applicable.
  • Certificate of Medical Examination required.
  • Must be able to lift and carry weights up to 40 pounds.
  • Work is usually performed indoors in areas that have adequate light and ventilation, however when on the beverage cart work is performed outside in the elements of weather.
  • May be exposed to hot liquids, sharp cutting blades, and hot working surfaces and extreme temperature changes when entering walk in refrigerators or freezing units.
  • There is a danger of falling from a ladder, of slipping on a floor where food or beverages have been spilled.

Qualifications

Candidates must:

1. Possess math skills necessary to calculate patron bills and take inventory.
2. Skill in mixing and serving alcoholic and/or nonalcoholic beverages.
3. Have the ability to follow oral and written instructions in English and possess basic math skills.

PCS Costs
  • Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
FWS Allowances and Differentials
  • This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position.
  • All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee.
  • Regular full-time, regular part-time (to include those in a limited tenure appointment category) and regularly scheduled flexible employees are entitled to Sunday premium pay when working Sunday shifts. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 7.5% for the entire shift when a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 1500 and 2400. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 10% of the scheduled rate if a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 2300-0800.
Incentives and Bonuses
  • Incentives will not be paid.
Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
