Duties

Help

As an ALLIED TRADES WORKER - TITLE 32, WG-5801-8, you will perform complicated skilled trades tasks in any Allied Trades Shops. Operate various welding equipment to perform minor welding tasks following accepted shop practices. Repair mobile equipment metal body components. Straighten, knock out dents and creases, sand and finish damaged parts. Replace broken or damaged windshields and windows. Paint a wide variety of vehicles using standard methods and techniques that assure surface is fully coated, protected, and free from drips and runs. Prepare surfaces by sanding and wire brushing. Modify, repair and make canvas parts. Repair or make new covers for upholstery on trucks, and other equipment. Construct and repair boxes, pallets, wood bracing to be used in shipping and storage. Follow instructions as to the type of item, size, shape, and materials to be used. Operate various machine tools performing work involved in various simple fabrications as instructed by a higher-grade machinist. Perform other duties as assigned.

RANK REQUIREMENT:
Member must provide in writing with their application package that they are willing to accept a reduction in rank in order to be qualified for this position, if applicable. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
You must maintain membership in the Kentucky National Guard.
You must be assigned to a compatible military position.
Wear of the military uniform.

Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
Must obtain and maintain a favorable adjudication of a T3 or equivalent investigation.

This position is located on a tobacco free facility.
This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT:
Experience or training which demonstrates knowledge of equipment to be able to do routine jobs, simple preventative maintenance tasks, and is able to use common tools and equipment in the line of work.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Must have experience using various welding equipment to include wire welders, torches, stick welders, and plasma cutters. Experience repairing metal body components such as fenders, panels, hooks, truck beds. Experience painting vehicles using standard methods such as brushing, rolling, and spraying. Experience operating machine tools in order to perform fabrications.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Resume must have complete dates, work schedule, and/or hours worked per week for both civilian and military employment. (Example: 2 JAN 1980 to 3 MAR 1981; 0800-1630 M-F or JAN 1980 to MAR 1981; 40 hrs/wk) Use of year only and unspecified work schedule will result in disqualification.
