The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of manual tasks in food preparation and food service areas such as preparing vegetables, salads, desserts and other food items. Basic responsibilities include securing and washing food, peeling, mashing or delivering food to the kitchen for cooking; slicing meats, preparing sandwiches and salads; measuring and mixing ingredients. Follows recipes as directed. Cleans, scrubs, wipes or washes service equipment such as work tables or refrigerators. Separates food waste and trash. Ensures food is transported using sanitary containers and kept at appropriate temperatures
This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
This position has a physical lifting requirement which requires the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical.
This position requires the incumbent to be able to obtain, maintain, and provide evidence of current immunizations; this includes annual influenza vaccinations and be free of all communicable diseases
Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and /or complete food handler's training.
Must be at least 18 years of age; hold a high school diploma; read, speak and write English

Qualifying Experience:
This is an entry level position and no minimum qualifications are required for this position however experience in food service and food preparation is desired.
Education

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
