Duties

Help
  • Operates the UH-60 Helicopter while instructing and evaluating the copilot.
  • Conducts continuation training of other Maintenance Instructors to ensure currency and proficiency.
  • Conducts classroom instruction on all aspects of the UH-60 Helicopter.
  • Instruct and evaluate classroom portions of the Maintenance Test Pilot Course (MTPC) in accordance with Course Management Plans (CMP).
  • Instruct and evaluate aviation students on pre-flight through post flight proficiency in the UH-60 Helicopter.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) instructing rated and non-rated pilots in maintenance test flight procedures in the UH-60 helicopter; (2) instructing and evaluating pilots in basic and advanced test flight task such as maneuvers, aircraft systems and limitations for the UH-60; (3) conducting classroom instruction concerning the UH-60 aircraft systems and operating procedures; and (4) monitoring standardization requirements, recommend changes in lesson plans, program of instruction, training methods and techniques. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Certifications: This position requires you possess the appropriate Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Pilot Certificates, FAA Flight Instructor Certificate and/or appropriate military rating.
