Summary

This is a NAF position with the 17th Force Support Squadron, located at Outdoor Recreation on Goodfellow AFB, San Angelo, Texas.

This position is considered Regular Part-Time (RPT). You are guaranteed 20 hours, but has the potential to work up to 40 hours/week. You may be required to work nights, weekends and holidays. As a RPT employee, you are eligible to earn annual/sick leave and sign up for benefits, to include Health/Dental and Life Insurance, 401k and NAF Retirement.

Help

  • Under the supervision of the Outdoor Recreation (ODR) Director, assists in the planning, development, coordination and administration of a military outdoor recreation program
  • Responsible for the day-day operations and management of the Goodfellow AFB Recreation Camp at Lake Nasworthy (Rec Camp) to include, but not limit to, programs, facilities, equipment, supplies, resale operations, grounds and equipment maintenance.
  • Oversees safety, health, hazardous material handling, and physical security requirements associated with the Rec. Camp.
  • Ensures safety guidelines are provided for specific activities, such as boating and water safety, in accordance with the Air Force, county, state and national directives, policies, and laws.
  • Trains, orients, and arranges training by appropriate agencies for all assigned workers, volunteers, and camp hosts at the Rec Camp.
  • Operates a variety of vehicles, to include, but not limited to, utility carts, 15-passenger van, and truck and trailer rig (non-commercial truck with up to 16-foot trailer).

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
Experience which has provided a general familiarity with routines and procedures followed in Outdoor Recreation programs is desired. In addition, familiarity with land management, equipment maintenance, and recreation programming is desired. Cash handling experience is required. Must have demonstrated the ability to perform satisfactorily at the grade level of the position. Must possess a current red Cross First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certifications (or American Heart Association equivalent) or be able to complete requirements within 30 days of employment. Employee must have a valid driver's license and have a good driving record. Employee must be able to lift 40 pounds without assistance, and heavier weights up to 75 pounds with assistance. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. This is a drug-testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier-1 background investigation.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
