Duties

Help
  • You will be involved in the planning, installation, configuration, testing, implementation, and management of the systems environment in support of the organization’s IT architecture and business needs;
  • You will manage and operate computer systems including performing backups, software installations, hardware installations/modifications and system scanning;
  • You will serve as the research, development, test and evaluation expert and consultant within the Lab and Facility Operations Division in the areas of advanced classified and unclassified network architecture;
  • You will identify NAVAIR's technical customer base, interact with prospective test planners on a regular basis, and provide in-depth infrastructure/network data as required;
  • You will ensure effective and efficient maintenance and operations workflow and practices to help improve availability and performance of systems and dependent environments.

  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code (451-Sys Admin), proficiency level (Intermediate) the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
  • This position will require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11/12 grade level or DS-04 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

1) Providing day-to-day operational support for Information Technology (IT) infrastructure;
2) Ensuring development, security, and operational testing requirements are met for assigned Information Technology (IT) systems;
3) Providing technical advice and guidance regarding the design, integration, installation, and support of state-of-the-art Information Technology (IT) systems; and
4) Monitoring systems/networks and assisting with resolving complex issues involving system/network software and hardware. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
