Summary


This is a NAF position with the 17th Force Support Squadron, located at The Angelo Inn on Goodfellow AFB, San Angelo, Texas.

This position is considered Regular Part-Time (RPT). You are guaranteed 20 hours, but has the potential to work up to 40 hours/week. You may be required to work nights, weekends and holidays. As a RPT employee, you are eligible to earn annual/sick leave and sign up for benefits, to include Health/Dental and Life Insurance, 401k and NAF Retirement.

Help

  • Plans the use of workers, equipment, facilities, materials and tools needed to accomplish the job.
  • Assigns, directs, and reviews the work of subordinates. Observes work in progress resolving problems and making adjustments as necessary to meet scheduled. Inspects completed work for quantity and quality of work performed.
  • Explains and gains the support of subordinates for management policy, programs, and goals. Hires, promotes, motivates, disciplines, and separates subordinates.
  • Supports the objectives of AF-wide programs and policies such as labor-management relations and equal employment opportunity.
  • Advises and counsels subordinates on improving performance.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
Experience in supervising the work of subordinate employees in accomplishing custodial work. Experience and knowledge gained in a military lodging program or commercial hotel/motel housekeeping is preferred. Must be able to follow simple oral and written instructions and speak English. Must be able to use hand or lightweight powered cleaning tools or equipment. Must be physically able to frequently lift and empty wastebaskets, frequently pushing carts, weighing more than 100 pounds, loaded with dirty laundry or wastepaper; and occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 20 pounds. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Must be able to continuously stand, stoop, and reach for long periods of time. Must be able to satisfactorily complete aTier-1 background investigation.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
