Duties

Help
  • You will provide input and assistance to the Child Development Center (CDC) Director in the management of all aspects of a highly diversified CDC.
  • You will provide input regarding proposed Appropriated Fund budget requirements to the CDC Director.
  • You will ensure specific requirements for all special needs children enrolled in the CDC are met.
  • You will conduct a property management program for nonexpendable equipment in compliance with local directives and act as Responsible Officer for designated property accounts.
  • You will ensure accountability for the change fund, daily receipts and patron ledger accounts, and ensure all daily operations and record keeping are in compliance with established standard operating procedures and current directives.
  • You will plan and organize work and manage positions to ensure maximum productivity.
  • You will serve as acting Child Development Center Director in absence of the assigned Center Director.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assisting with administering child development programs and services that meet the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical needs of children ages six weeks until commencing kindergarten.

Basic Requirements:

  • A degree that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position OR
  • A degree that included child development, early childhood education, home economics (early childhood emphasis), elementary education, special education (early childhood emphasis), or other fields appropriate to the position to be filled OR
  • A degree that included education in child care administration. In addition to child development, early childhood education, home economics (early childhood emphasis), elementary education, special education, or other fields appropriate to the position to be filled is qualifying, and qualifying education in special education must have had a concentration in early childhood education OR
  • A combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described above.
In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, you may qualify with the following education OR equivalent combination of both experience and education, as follows:
  • I have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree OR
  • I have successfully completed two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree OR
  • I have a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent
