Duties

Help
  • Responsible for end-to-end process and lifecycle of access to systems and applications, establishing, maintaining, and controlling IT systems and application security, network rights and access to DOD/DLA logistics systems/applications.
  • Provides advice for all matters related to SAP to help improve performance in terms of operations, management, structure, and strategy.
  • Responsible for designing, configuring, monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting security tasks in the SAP technical environment by adhering to the approved Change Management policies and procedures.
  • Collaborates with technical, functional and customer teams to resolve SAP security, governance, risk, and compliance problems.
  • Responsible for the planning, design, configuration, and implementation of post installation, upgrade and maintenance security tasks of SAP systems, ancillary components, and subsystems
  • Provides advisory services to operating or management officials on policy interpretation and during the development process pertaining to cybersecurity functional requirements.
  • Ensures security and comP.liance reguirements are P.lanned to provide data confidentiality, data and system integrity and availability.
  • Reviews and evaluates IT system design and development documents to ensure system safeguards result in an acceptable level of risk and pass compliance

Qualifications

To qualify for an IT Specialist (INFOSEC), your resume and supporting documentation must include:

A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:

  • Provides advisory services to operating or management officials on policy interpretation and during the development process pertaining to IA and cybersecurity functional requirements.
  • Ensure access management roles and responsibilities for Access Management and Program Manager
  • Provides subject matter expertise on all security tasks in lifecycle of the assigned system and applications.
  • Participates as a member on IPTs (Integrated project teams), participates on Business process reengineering (BPR) working groups, participates on Business Transformation Study (BTS)working groups, participates in cloud transformation working groups or testing activities related to security, compliance tasks
  • Participates in security design, development, implementation and the corresponding user access provisioning and compliance process sprints with the functional, technical and business customers.
B. Education: Applicants may not qualify for this position based on education in lieu of specialized experience.

Drug-Free Workplace Policy

The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is committed to maintaining a safe, drug-free workplace. All DLA employees are required to refrain from illegal drug use on and off duty. DLA conducts pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, and random drug testing.

Applicants tentatively selected for employment in testing designated positions will undergo a urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Refusal to undergo testing or testing positive for illegal drugs will result in withdrawal of the tentative job offer and a six-month denial of employment with DLA from the date of the drug test. Employees in drug testing designated positions are subject to random drug testing.

The DLA drug testing panel tests for the following substances: marijuana, cocaine, opiates, heroin, phencyclidine, amphetamines, methamphetamines, fentanyl, norfentanyl, methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), methylenedioxyamphetamine (MDA), and opioids.

ADVISORY: Use of cannabidiol (CBD) products may result in a positive drug test for marijuana. DLA employees are subject to Federal law and under Federal law, Marijuana is a Schedule I drug and is illegal.
