About the position: This position will be assigned to the Eglin Lodging Facilities.

This is a NAF (Non-Appropriated Fund) position assigned to the 96th Force Support Squadron at Eglin AFB Florida.

Position is Regular Part-time (RPT) guaranteed 20-34 hours per week and schedule tour of duty may include nights, weekends and holidays. RPT employees receive benefits (Health Insurance; Life Insurance; 401K & AFNAF Retirement Plan with Employer matching contribution; PTO/SL/Holidays).

Duties

Help

I. Performs visual inspections and operational tests to determine the need for, and the performance of, repair work associated with various trades, such as, Carpentry, Plumbing, Painting, and Electrical.
2. Unclogs s inks, commodes and urinals. Replaces fixture parts such as, washers, floats, handles, shower heads, and toilet sets.
3. Makes repairs to walls, doors, windows, floors and ceilings using accepted trade practices.
4. Prepares surfaces by repairing holes, applying dry wall compound, sanding before application of paints, enamels, varnishes asunder coats and finish coats.
5. Repairs and/or replaces minor electrical problems such as wall sockets, switches, light fixtures, etc.
6: Removes and replaces damaged tile and carpet.
7. Makes minor repairs and adjustments to various lodging furnishings.
8. Operates and performs operator maintenance on various lodging vehicles.
9. Performs other related duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience:

Must have previous experience in the maintenance and repair tasks involved in the upkeep of buildings, grounds, and related structures, fixtures and utilities. Must be to use common carpentry and plumbing hand/powered tools. Must be able to follow oral and/or written instructions. Must be physically able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds, and occasionally push or pull objects weighing up to I 00 pounds. Must be able to frequently bend, stoop, reach, climb, stand, and work in awkwardpositions. Must be able to complete a pre-employment physical and have or be able to obtain a valid motor vehicle operatorlicense. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI). "This is a drug testing designatedposition. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use."

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
