Duties

Help
  • Serves as the Commodity Support Liaison (CSL) for a specific supply chain, within the Customer Operations Directorate.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert (SME) for the Defense Logistics Agency within their assigned supply chain providing assistance to Air Force, Space Force, Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and non-DoD representatives on their Troop Support requirements.
  • Responsible for support functions for assigned customer requirements, requiring a detailed knowledge of customer needs related to various tailored logistics programs such as Prime Vendor Programs, service peculiar design and deployment scheduling,
  • forecasting and requisitioning behavior and consumer, retail/wholesale inventory management and ownership techniques.
  • Acts as a customer advocate and a prime point of contact, working jointly with logistics partners in support of large-scale programs, life cycle management design and deployment programs.
  • Coordinates required logistics support between DLA entities and MILSVC entities, including the areas of supply procedures, forecasting, requirements determination, documentation, acquisitioning, quality control, maintenance,
  • item specifications, procurement data, transportation pipelines, manufacturing, fabrication, production, etc., to ensure life cycle support for customer programs.
  • Analyzes customer forecasting and requirements with Directorate, to identify trends for assigned major programs and/or systems.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Commodity Support Liaison, your resume and supporting documentation must support:

A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:

  • Applying a thorough knowledge of supply chain management support functions such as planning, order fulfillment, procurement, transportation, cataloging, provisioning storage and distribution in order to provide advice and assistance to the front-end users and military commanders/ leadership.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of automated applications related to Order Fulfillment, finance (Accounts Receivable), and planning (Advanced Planning and Optimization and EEBP), and delivery conditions in order to serve as SME in the Supply Chain and provide advice and serve as functional lead and troubleshooter with responsibility for oversight of all functions.
  • Providing technical oversight for customer account personnel and serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all aspects of planning and order fulfillment life cycle management and maintenance within assigned Supply Chain.
  • Applying an in-depth understanding of integrated supply chain concepts, policies, and procedures including maintenance, material support, support equipment and other integrated elements that comprise program management techniques and tools.
  • Knowledge of work processes and terminology to plan and conduct studies to determine and advise on proposed projects.
