Summary

This position is located in the Executive Office of the President, Office of Administration, Office of the Chief Administrative Officer, HR Systems and Processing Division. The incumbent will serve as a Human Resources Specialist (Information Systems) providing the full range range of administrative and technical support to process personnel actions for all components of the EOP. The incumbent will serve as a work leader to at least one Human Resources Assistant.

Duties

Help

As a Human Resources Specialist (Information Systems), GS-0201-12, your typical work assignments may include the following:

  • Provides advisory services and technical guidance to employees, supervisors, and senior management officials regarding Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
  • Maintains automated interfaces between personnel and payroll databases such as Defense Civilian Personnel Data System and Defense Civilian Pay System.
  • Serves as the technical POC for HRIS, resolves system generated and/or user initiated quality control tickets by identifying the problem and taking corrective action.
  • Performs testing of enhancements and fixes to HR tools, systems, and applications; identifies errors and deficiencies; and documents anomalies through prescribed methods.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: All applicants must meet the qualification requirements outlined below to be considered minimally qualified for this position. The qualification requirements are in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standards. ALL QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE MET BY THE CLOSING DATE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT.


SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility comparable to the next lower grade or comparable pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. Examples of specialized experience are:


You may qualify at the GS-12 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector that demonstrates your ability to (1) Providing advisory services and technical guidance to employees, supervisors, and senior management officials regarding HR automation requirements, capabilities, and operations of various Human Resources Information System (HRIS). (2) Maintaining automated interfaces between personnel, benefits, and payroll systems, databases, and applications. (3) Performing data analysis to measure functionality and evaluating overall effectiveness of Human Resources Information Systems.


Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
