Duties

Help
  • Inspect housekeeping contractor’s work areas on all floors.
  • Conduct day to day inspections of performance of housekeeping services contract in all areas of contract to include patient rooms, wards, clinics and common areas in accordance with the FMD Housekeeping QA SOP.
  • Prepares reports reflecting inspection results and refers a copy of deficiencies to the QA Supervisor and the Hospital Housekeeping Officer (HHO) for corrective actions.
  • Note and report condition requiring maintenance, such as leaky faucets, clogged drains and/or toilets, lights not burning etc.
  • Stop safety infractions in progress.
  • Inform QA Supervisor of necessary corrective measures in cases of deficiencies personally noted during tours of reported by various activity elements.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Tier 3 security investigation or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Custodial Worker Inspector ~ without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common custodial, janitorial, and housekeeping activities within a large hospital setting. I am skilled in inspecting performance of custodial, janitorial, or housekeeping services of all areas to include patient rooms, wards, clinics and common areas to ensure completion; maintaining a log or check sheet of work performed by staff. I work under close supervisor of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes task in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

  • Physical Effort: The incumbent may occasionally lift and move objects weighing over 50 lbs (scrap, trash, cars, crates, etc). Physical effort is exerted in walking to, between and thru buildings, on grounds of campus and in parking garages multi-levels.
  • Working Conditions: The incumbent works in both areas indoors and outdoors. The incumbent is continually exposed to dirt, dust, grease etc., and standing on hard surface floors.
