Help
  • Conducts expert analysis regarding demand/supply chain performance issues and when required coordinates with functional process analysts and subject-matter specialists throughout the enterprise.
  • Utilizes available Information Technology (IT) systems to extract and analyze transactional data from IT systems of record and related data warehouses, tables, and resources.
  • Analyzes data regarding past, present, and projected demand/supply chain activity.
  • Evaluates implementation of accepted proposals for improving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), metrics, and other demand/supply chain performance critical data to ensure the demand/supply chain area is meeting its performance targets.
  • Identifies trends and other factors adversely affecting performance and recommends improvements based on analyses and trends.
  • Advises and assists senior management and enterprise Leadership in defining performance.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Demand/Supply Chain Analyst your resume and supporting documentation must support:

A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after- competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:

  • Using demand/supply chain applications, such as SAP, JDA, COPA, NDMS, SAS, and DSS, related to functional processes including system functionality and business capabilities.
  • Applying and adapting analytical techniques and evaluation criteria to investigate, analyze and evaluate activities within the demand/supply chain area.
  • Performing analysis of demand/supply chain KPIs, such as Fill Rate, Material Delay, UFO/Backorder Reduction, Delay Fill Time, and Delivery Response Time.
  • Writing SQL code/programs for data mining purposes and applying and adapting analytical techniques and evaluation criteria to investigate, analyze and evaluate activities within the demand/supply chain area.
  • Using provided Spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Excel) for data analysis, manipulation, and reporting.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Additional information

Drug-Free Workplace Policy

The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is committed to maintaining a safe, drug-free workplace. All DLA employees are required to refrain from illegal drug use on and off duty. DLA conducts pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, and random drug testing.

Applicants tentatively selected for employment in testing designated positions will undergo a urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Refusal to undergo testing or testing positive for illegal drugs will result in withdrawal of the tentative job offer and a six-month denial of employment with DLA from the date of the drug test. The DLA drug testing panel tests for the following substances: marijuana, cocaine, opiates, heroin, phencyclidine, amphetamines, methamphetamines, fentanyl, norfentanyl, methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), methylenedioxyamphetamine (MDA), and opioids.

ADVISORY: Use of cannabidiol (CBD) products may result in a positive drug test for marijuana. DLA employees are subject to Federal law and under Federal law, Marijuana is a Schedule I drug and is illegal.
