Duties

Help

Provides oversight of activities and necessary services to authorized patrons, including general information on the use of equipment.  Provides information concerning facilities and operation.Works closely with the barn manager, maintenance workers, and riding instructors to help in the smooth functioning of a high volume lesson, training and boarding program as well as assisting in maintaining the MCCS owned horses.

Assists the Stepp Stables manager with administrative and clerical duties.  Will operate a cash register, receive payments, make change and maintain routine reports. Will perform custodial and general maintenance duties as needed.  The Recreation Attendant assists in keeping the daily operations of the trainers and instructors running smoothly so that their time can be focused on the teaching and physical training of students and horses. Attendant will assist with lessons, clinics, working with the MCCS horses, working with current and potential clients, and working with boarders at the facility.  Will help students get ready before lessons and clinics, help reorganize and maintain order in the lesson tack room and offices, help provide any care services for boarders and MCCS horses as needed and when approved by Stables Manager.  Will assist in feeding and Stall cleaning of MCCS and boarder horses.

Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Acknowledges customers, smiles and makes eye contact.  Asks questions to determine, verify and solve problems.  Checks for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services. Takes action to solve problems quickly.  Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise.  

Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Monitors and checks the security of premises. Uses required safety equipment and observes safe work procedures.  Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.  Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.

EVALUATIONS:

Qualifications

Must have basic horsemanship skills and general equine related knowledge. Must have administrative experience and working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.  Skill to learn MCCS policies, rules and regulations. Ability to communicate orally and in writing.  This is a mixed position both indoors and outdoors where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a National Agency Check with Inquiries and State Criminal History Repository Check (CNACI) background checks which are required for positions that involve working with children under 18 years of age.
