Qualifications
This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Preparing structural engineering drawings, technical specifications, calculations, studies, and performing design reviews for facility design projects; 2) Developing innovative solutions for structural engineering problems not readily treated by conventionally accepted methods; 3) Performing field investigations to verify and document existing structural conditions as a basis for the design of facility projects or to assist in resolution of construction issues; 4) Managing structural engineering facilities projects from cradle to grave with adherence to budget, schedule and quality standards; 5) Serving on independent technical review teams and quality assurance (QA) teams for review of structural design documents; and. 6) Mastery level knowledge and skill in applying advanced theories, concepts, and principles of professional structural engineering to serve as a regional engineering point of contact/recognized subject matter expert for design and construction projects. Specialized experience includes design and construction of waterfront facilities, including but not limited to ship berthing, heavy weather moorings and submarine and surface combatant camels.
