This position is only open to current and former DoD NAF employees, and current, eligible DoD APF employees that currently reside within the commuting distance to the duty location of Fort Sam Houston, TX.
The incumbent in this position will perform duties as a Cloud Resource analyst. Under general supervision, performs routine and recurring assignments in the planning and delivery of a full range of network services to the organization. Identifies and resolves issues and problems using analytical methods and practices. Performs network system design, development, testing, installation, operations, management, and maintenance. Manages the organizations network architecture, topology, and protocols. Evaluates established methods and procedures and prepares recommendations for changes in methods and practices where appropriate. Presents verbal and written communications on the application of new and emerging technologies or industry trends. Reports, responds to, and resolves network service requests. Applies information security and information assurance policy, principles and practices.
QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE CLEARLY VERIFIABLE IN YOUR RESUME. GOVERNMENT POSITIONS MUST INCLUDE PAY PLAN, SERIES, GRADE, TO AND FROM DATES, AND GOVERNMENT AGENCY/DEPARTMENT. Must include at least one year of experience performing duties at a level which equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform successfully in the position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education (24 semester hours) in computer science/engineering, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, technology management, or fields that required the development or adaptation of information technology applications, systems, or networks.
OR
Specialized experience as follows:
1. Performing complex network installations and remote configuration of various network devices.
2. Reporting, responding to, and resolving network service requests. Experience in remote troubleshooting and repair with tier 1 onsite support.
3. Preparing presentations, delivering network training, and communicating complex network issues telephonically to customers in remote locations.
4. Evaluating/troubleshooting network systems (design, testing, installation, operations, management, and maintenance), and developing solutions to improve network performance.
All candidates must demonstrate proficiency in the following competencies as they relate to providing IT network services: Attention to Detail; Customer Service; Verbal Communication; and Problem Solving.
All Qualified applicants will be rated against the highly qualifying criteria by a rating panel for evaluation of the quality and extent of your total accomplishments, experience and education. HIGHLY QUALIFYING CRITERIA:
1) Working knowledge of enterprise IT infrastructure, including virtualization, networking, storage, and cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), with the ability to support and maintain these technologies.
2) Ability to support cloud migration and operations, including preparing documentation, gathering requirements, and coordinating with technical teams during implementation and sustainment activities.
3) Familiarity with RMF and FISMA, with the ability to assist in compliance tracking, evidence gathering, and support for ATO-related documentation.
4) Working knowledge of APMS, including experience with record maintenance, status tracking, and support to portfolio governance.
5) Graduate degree in computer science, information science, information systems management, technology management, or cyber security.
