Duties

Help

This position will support multiple garrisons in the D.C. area. Serves as a training instructor responsible for the direct delivery of instruction or training services. Utilizes a practical knowledge of the methods and techniques of instruction and possesses an advanced knowledge of the subject-matter taught / instructed to include its principles and theories, trade knowledge, techniques, methods of operation, and governing regulations and guidelines to conduct instructor-lead, web-based, or blended training of courses concerned with Morale, Welfare, and Recreation activities or Family Support programs. The formal instructor-led training phase consists of small and large group discussions, practical exercises, games, simulations, lectures, demonstrations, laboratories, and oral and written examinations, and critiques. Measures student progress through review of written test scores. Maintains records of training scheduled and accomplished, attendance, test results, classroom conduct, student progress, etc. Recommends rotation of students or release of students when work is not satisfactory.

Independently develops, modifies and updates lesson plans and courses pertaining to the subject mater taught. Determines appropriate instructional techniques such as conference, demonstration, lecture, or self-paced learning programs, on-line instruction, and job aids. Develops visual aids as necessary and/or uses existing material. Conducts surveys to determine an organization's training needs. Uses present-day technology to accomplish assignments that support learning.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE CLEARLY VERIFIABLE IN YOUR RESUME. GOVERNMENT POSITIONS MUST INCLUDE PAY PLAN, SERIES, GRADE, TO AND FROM DATES, AND GOVERNMENT AGENCY/DEPARTMENT. Must include at least one year of experience performing duties at a level which equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform successfully in the position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Work experience of the caliber described above that demonstrates a comprehensive, intensive, and practical knowledge of the field associated with the training assignments, to include awareness of technological changes or new developments gained through extended experience and on-the-job training at the installation level combined with practice and study. Must possess an in-depth knowledge of a wide range of training methods, techniques and tools in order to develop, present, and maintain courses. This knowledge may have been gained through training, evaluating other instructors, resolving difficult student problems, (e.g., students with complicated or specialized learning difficulties), and / or developing or adapting new or revised formal training or testing materials.

Those applicants determined to be highly qualified will be referred to the hiring official for consideration. The highly qualified candidates may undergo an interview and reference checks.

HIGHLY QUALIFYING CRITERIA:

1) Experience with customer service in a business environment.
2) Experience in delivery, methods and techniques of adult instruction.
3) Experience working for Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation
