Duties

  • The duties described are for the full-performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity.
  • The duties may include but are not limited to: Serves as timekeeper which may include duties such as resolving questions/issues related to time and attendance and conducting leave audits.
  • Makes arrangements for meetings and conferences, including gathering and printing background materials, collecting and submitting information to meet security office requirements for visitors.
  • As a FATA (Federal Agency Travel Administrator), serves as a subject matter expert and provides support to the division or program area management team to ensure alignment with agency, Department and government-wide travel policies and regulations.
  • Under the guidance of the supervisor, uses software to coordinate and track expenditures related to procurement transactions, supplies, training, travel and equipment.
  • Assists the unit’s manager in maintaining workflow within the unit to ensure that deadlines are met, and the quality of the work products is sufficient and consistent.
  • Sets up user accounts and profiles and submits passport and visa requests. Submits country clearances for international travel. Creates, maintains and tracks travel reservations and vouchers in the travel system.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement, including specialized experience and/or education, as defined below.

BASIC REQUIREMENT:

FOR THE GS-08 GRADE LEVEL: Applicants who meet the basic requirements qualify for this grade level.

FOR THE GS-08 LEVEL: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal Service or it's non-federal equivalent. Specialized experience for this position includes: assesses and evaluates administrate processes and advises on the practical and technical aspects of office administration and performs staff support work; supports multiple staff at a time on travel requests for international and domestic travel setting up user accounts and profiles; submits passport and visa requests and submits country clearances for international travel and prepares and maintains the necessary control mechanisms of requisition requests in procuring a variety of supplies and office equipment.

Note: There is no education substitution for this grade level.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.   • This position may be eligible to telework per Agency policy. This position may also be eligible for flexible work arrangements as determined by agency policy and any applicable collective bargaining agreements.
  • Locality pay will vary based upon the selectee's duty location. A final salary determination will be made upon selection.
