Duties

Help
  • Develop and execute policies, programs, and procedures which implement primary integrated violence prevention programs that apply to the 54 States/Territories/District of Columbia within the National Guard.
  • Serve as a technical writer for the National Guard Bureau Warrior Resilience and Fitness Division by authoring informational materials to implement primary prevention programs.
  • Review new and existing policy regarding primary prevention and other applicable programs by determining the impact across the National Guard Bureau enterprise.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Individuals have to meet 1 of the IOR basic requirements:

A). A bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in behavioral or social science, or a degree in a related discipline appropriate to the position. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
B). A combination of education and experience that provided me with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
C). Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrates that I have acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

In addition to meeting the Basic Requirements above you must also meet the specialized experience and/or education substitution below. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.

Minimum Qualifications required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: developing and implementing comprehensive policies concerning acts of interpersonal or intrapersonal violence; establishing and maintaining effective working relations and skill in written communications used in briefings, reports, and/or training programs; providing policy writing, technical writing, and/or equivalent by using knowledge of public health, social science work principles to assist in the resolution of complex problems related to operational processes; reviewing exiting policy and identify redundancies, and gaps in primary prevention policies.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Education
