Duties

Help

As an Executive Assistant to the Deputy Chief Counsel (Operations) you will:

  • Act on behalf of Senior Leadership through daily contacts and by representing the agency at internal and external meetings on a broad range of issues; including consideration or implementation of policies, practices, or other operational and management activities;
  • Coordinate and prepare reports, briefing materials, white papers, and other correspondence to aid in discussions with top level officials, both internal and external to an organization;
  • Manage calendar appointments and day-to-day activities for one or more senior executives to determine and prioritize action items, and coordinate responses to include staff actions, within established deadlines;
  • Plan/organize, support and/or attend meetings on behalf of senior leadership, which include coordinating the development of agenda items, and briefing stakeholders and the senior staff at the executive level on items of special interest and for action; and
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to assigned senior executives and other senior staff, on administration policies and operations for an organization.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position of Executive Assistant you must meet the qualification requirements listed below by the closing of this announcement:

For GS-12:

Specialized Experience: Your resume must detail at least one year of specialized experience which includes: Demonstrating ability to coordinate administrative actions, workflow and resources for senior leadership; apply interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and interact with stakeholders; and prepare routine correspondence.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

For GS-13:

Specialized Experience: Your resume must detail at least one year of specialized experience which includes: Providing advice and guidance to senior leadership on administrative operations, programs, and policies. Demonstrated ability with administrative management, project management, and applying analytical techniques and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and interact with stakeholders, coordinate the workflow and resources for senior leadership; and prepare correspondence, e.g., reports, briefing materials, and white papers.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Conditions of Employment Continued:
