This job opportunity is for an IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC), position description D2331000, within the 108th Comm Flight of the New Jersey National Guard. This vacancy announcement is a Title 32, Excepted Service position.

This vacancy announcement is for a Dual-Status Technician position which requires active membership in the New Jersey National Guard (uniformed military service). Official appointment is not effective until membership within the New Jersey National Guard is confirmed by the gaining Human Resources Office.

Duties

Help

As an IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC), GS-2210-12, you will:

  • Perform studies and independently establish plans for improving the efficiency of information technology and communications processes.
  • Exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
  • Monitor and coordinate manning authorizations and military personnel assignments, identifying needs or problem areas to the commander, and collaborating with supervisors on recommendations.
  • Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management.
  • Effect minor disciplinary measures such as warnings and reprimands and recommends action in more serious disciplinary matters.
  • Identify employee developmental needs and provides or arranges for training (formal and on-the-job) to maintain and improve job performance.
  • Coordinate with representatives of the CPT leadership cell, CPT and/or ICS operational squads, and the Commander to ensure Unit readiness for operational events, exercises, assessments and projects, and oversees the management of all support function equipment and tools.
  • Conduct studies and analyze contingencies, deployments, exercises, and mobilizations (CDEM) plans to determine required actions to enhance the COS's combat readiness and provides recommendations for problem resolution.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

NOTE:
Applicant should have the ability to obtain 1B4 AFSC by Initial Operational Capability (IOC). PCS may be authorized. Must be able to obtain IAT Level 2 certification

Military Grades: SMSgt/ E-8 to CMSgt/E-9

Compatible military grade and assignment required before the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Qualifications

General Experience:
Do you have experience in the following:

  • Data processing functions
  • Computer operator, computer assistant, or program analyst
  • General management principles that understand the stages of automate a work process
Specialized Experience:

Must have at least 36 months experience, education, or training that approaches techniques and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications area or computer specialty area in an organization. Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of project controls. Experience that required adaptations of guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment. Experience preparing documentation on cost/benefit studies where is involved summarizing the material and organizing it in a logical fashion.
