Duties

Help
  • Incumbent is assigned complete responsibility for planning, scheduling, directing, budgeting coordinating, advising, supervising, justifying, and reviewing Kansas City District real estate support activities.
  • Manager of the review appraiser/appraisal team by coordination of workload and overseeing timely completion by the appraisal team of tasks.
  • For contract appraisals, oversees conduct of investigations in areas of concern to locate qualified appraiser and timeliness of contract award.
  • Coordinates and directs Real Estate support activities requested by other Branches within the Real Estate Division.
  • Oversees Cartographic mapping functions, including securing current ownership information by staff or contract sources.
  • Oversees preparation of legal descriptions, obtaining aerial photogrammetric mapping and surveys utilizing appropriate District elements.
  • Oversees performance of Real property accountability functions and reconciliation.
  • Acts as Chief of Real Estate Division in the absence of Chief.
  • Promotes project management process and the teamwork process.
  • Manages, tracks, and oversees budget for the Real Estate Division.

  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% for official duties/training.
  • This position requires a supervisory probationary period as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG).
  • Financial Disclosure Statement OGE Form 450 is used to by agencies to avoid conflicts between duties and financial interest. This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Experience with responsibility of planning, scheduling, directing, budgeting, coordinating, advising, leading, justifying, and reviewing real estate activities for civil works and military projects.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-12.

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
