The incumbent will perform tasks such as, but not limited to the following cleans hospital rooms, office spaces, storerooms, corridors and other similar areas. Vacuums, damp mops, scrubs, waxes and polishes floors.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Required to be screened for applicable immunizations.
This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) CUSTODIAL WORKER ~ without more than normal supervision. I can operate common hand or lightweight powered cleaning equipment. I can perform cleaning tasks, use brooms, mops, lightweight vacuum cleaners; operate lightweight floor scrubbers and buffers, load supply carts and ensure adequate cleaning materials and equipment are available to complete assign tasks. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.- Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Effort: The work at the Grade 1 level involves light physical effort, such as that involved in using vacuum cleaners and dry mops; running lightweight powered scrubbers and buffers; continually standing, bending, stooping, and reaching; frequently lifting and emptying wastebaskets; frequently pushing carts loaded with dirty laundry or wastepaper; and occasionally lifting and carrying items weighing up to about (50 pounds).
Working Conditions: Custodial Workers usually work indoors, in areas which normally have adequate heat, light, and ventilation. Occasionally, the worker is exposed to skin irritations from strong cleaning solutions used in stripping floors, etc., and to serious injuries (e.g., broken bones) from falls from ladders and scaffolds.
Education
