Help
  • Administers the Real Estate Acquisition Program to meet the needs of the District's varied civil works programs, such as feasibility studies, coastal storm risk management projects, environmental restoration projects, and others.
  • Also provides support for the Military Construction programs and Support for Others missions in the District. Maintains liaison with District and military elements to determine program requirements.
  • Maintains relationships with other agency officials, various city, county and State officials, and private landowners, particularly in cases where complications involving policies are concerned.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing the vision, mission, and direction of the organization by leading and managing an inclusive, diverse workforce that leverages the talents of each employee.
  • Performs personnel management functions to guide and evaluate the technical efforts and work products produced by a team of employees comprised of Realty Specialists, Realty Assistants, DA Interns, Rehired Annuitants, and/or Contracted personnel.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • This position requires temporary duty travel to other duty locations 25% of the time.
  • Required to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450 upon entering the position and annually, in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R, Joint Ethics Regulation, dated 17-Nov-2011.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes1) applying knowledge of directives, laws, policies, and regulations relating to Federal and Army real estate procedures associated with the planning for real estate acquisition projects; 2) obtaining real estate via direct purchase or working through a partner to identify and acquire interests in real estate; 3) performing reviews of partners' documentation to evaluate and recommend credit/reimbursement for costs associated with the acquisition of real property interests; 4) overseeing a diverse team assigned to execute the acquisition of real estate interests, real estate products and services, and all associated actions; and 5) communicating and coordinating with internal/external stakeholders. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
