Duties

Help

You will serve as a Electrician Helper and be responsible for assisting higher-graded employees in installing, modifying, repairing, maintaining, troubleshooting, testing, and loading new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, and associated fixtures, controls, and equipment.

Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:

  • Assisting in assembling and installing parts
  • Getting tools and supplies
  • Carrying materials
  • Lifting and holding materials in place during repair operations
  • Cleaning tools, machines, and equipment
  • Keeping the work area clean and orderly

Key Requirements:

Qualifications

Applicants will be evaluated on their ability to perform the duties of the position rather than the length of experience. Eligibility will be determined by the relevance, scope, and quality of all experience and training, regardless of where or how acquired.

NOTE: Education cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level.
