Summary

This position is located at one of the following facilities on Naval Station Great Lakes in Illinois: Buckley's Restaurant at the Veterans Memorial Golf Course, Great Lakes Brew Club and the MWR food truck which works out of Buckley's Restaurant at the golf course. The purpose of this position is to give management the latitude to cover both a Bartender position and a Food Service Worker position using one employee.

Duties

Help

35% 1. Prepares a limited variety of alcoholic drinks by selecting proper premix and garnish where a working knowledge of the various mixed drinks is required. Serves patrons at counter or table service. Receives payment, operates a cash register, and makes and returns change to patrons or waiter. Works from drink recipes and is held strictly responsible for pre-measuring drinks to meet all retail accountability requirements.

35% 2. Prepares a variety of food orders following recipes. Takes food orders and sends them to kitchen for preparation. Serves food, alcoholic drinks, receives payments, operates a cash register, and makes and returns change to patrons.

15% 3. Cleans equipment in kitchen and service counter area. Washes dishes, pots, pans, glasses, and flatware. Cleans meat slicer in accordance with cleaning instructions. Sweeps, mops, and vacuums floors. Disposes of food waste and trash.

5% 4. Prepares Daily Activity Report for cash receipt documentation at end of shift and deposits monies in drop safe.

5% 5. Secures building at close of business in absence of management.5% 6. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Must be 21 years or older and submit proof of age.
  • Requires frequent light to moderate lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 5 to 15 pounds, pushing, and pulling objects weighing 10 to 20 pounds. Heavier objects, such as beer kegs, are transported with the aid of a dolly.

Qualifications

A qualified candidate must possess:

Must be 21 years or older and submit proof of age.

Able to read, write, and comprehend English.

A minimum of Food Prep or Bartender and cash handling practical experience is preferred.

Requires frequent light to moderate lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 5 to 15 pounds, pushing, and pulling objects weighing 10 to 20 pounds. Heavier objects, such as beer kegs, are transported with the aid of a dolly.

Education
