Job Summary:
The Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) provides operations support services and business solutions to the community of 10,000 House Members, Officers and staff. The CAO organization comprises more than 650 technical and administrative staff working in a variety of areas, including information technology, finance, budget management, human resources, payroll, childcare, food and vending, procurement, logistics and administrative counsel.
This paid internship* is in the House Human Capital Office of the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), U.S. House of Representatives (House). The House Human Capital Office is responsible for providing human-resource related support to Member, Committee, and Leadership Offices. The House Human Capital Office's offerings include: the House Intern Resource Office, the Office of Talent and Development, the Office of Employee Assistance, the House Center for Well-Being, and the Green and Gold Congressional Aide Program.
The House Human Capital Office is excited to provide engaging experience for an intern to support our dynamic team. We will offer the intern the ability to (1) work on challenging and rewarding projects; (2) contribute to meaningful and important activities; and (3) support programs in service to the House. Specific examples of projects include assisting with our recruiting and outreach efforts, providing support to our training programs, and contributing to the House-wide HR Hub which provides guidance and resources to the House community.
* paid at an annual rate of $36,469 which is roughly $3,039 per month and not to exceed 120 days
** The CAO standard business hours are 8:30 a.m.- 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week internship that will require onsite attendance in Washington, D.C.
This role does not have day to day supervisory/managerial responsibilities.
