Duties

Help
  • Develops and follows efficient, consistent and safe bus routes for routine trips (e.g., to and from school) to minimize transportation time.
  • Ensures the safety and well-being of children, youth and adults being transported to and from the program and on field trips.
  • Practices bus evacuation following prescribed procedures with children and youth on a monthly basis.
  • Arranges for and ensures completion of routine maintenance of bus (e.g., oil change) transporting the bus to and from maintenance facilities.
  • Completes a comprehensive written inspection of the bus daily, reporting any concerns to the supervisor before transporting children/youth.

  • Duties involve working both indoors and outdoors under different types of weather conditions.

  • This position requires mandated reporting of all suspected incidents of child abuse/neglect.
  • The appropriate driver’s license must be valid and current.

Qualifications

High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.
Ability to communicate in English at a level to assure the duties described can be accomplished in a safe and satisfactory manner.
Experience in accomplishing the types of duties described in this job.
Requires a valid state driver's license to operate a 15 passenger vehicle.

PCS Costs
  • Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
FWS Allowances and Differentials
  • This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position.
  • All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee.
  • Regular full-time, regular part-time (to include those in a limited tenure appointment category) and regularly scheduled flexible employees are entitled to Sunday premium pay when working Sunday shifts. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 7.5% for the entire shift when a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 1500 and 2400. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 10% of the scheduled rate if a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 2300-0800..

  • Incentives will not be paid.
Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
