As an Criminal Investigator at a minimum you will:
Incumbent will need to complete or provide documentation of having completed the Criminal Investigation Training Program (CITP) course(s) at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC). This requirement may be met by certification of completion of a compatible course such as the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Academy New Agent Training, U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Basic Agent Training, or U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Division (CID) Special Agent Course. Each Special Agent will attend a formal OIG-specific follow up training program. Failure to meet this training requirement will result in removal from the agency.
In accordance with 5 U.S.C. 3307, a maximum entry age of 36 has been established for initial appointment to a position in a criminal investigator position. If you are above the maximum entry age and have prior federal law enforcement coverage, you MUST submit an SF-50 to verify prior coverage.
