About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Moody Off-Base Recreation Area/Grassy Pond. Guaranteed 20 hours, but may work up to 40 hours per week. Must be able to work an irregular tour of duty, to include nights, weekends, and holidays. May be asked to live on property in the absence of a Camp Host and will pay to cover rent and utilities at a rate to be determined at the time of need.

Duties

Help

Plans, develops, and directs the operation of Grassy Pond. Plans and coordinates special interest activities such as fishing tournaments, family outings, weddings, family reunions, and any other scheduled special function. Accounts for all funds and resale merchandise and prepares daily reports. Develops and submits annual budget requirements. Directs the maintenance and control of rental equipment units and use of all watercraft including outboard motors. Provides technical advice and training instructions. Establishes inventory stock level; is accountable for maintaining stock records, cost of supplies, overhead and profit. Manages real property resources and provides expert advice on renovations, improvements, and minor and major construction. Supervises assigned personnel, prepares work schedules, approves/disapproves employee leave, prepares performance appraisals/awards, maintains discipline, and prepares disciplinary actions.

  • Must possess (or be able to obtain within a reasonable amount of time) current and valid nationally recognized certifications for boaters safety, basic first aid and CPR adult, child and infant, food handler's certification and DRAM shop training.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Qualifying Experience:
Must have progressively responsible experience working with the routines and procedures followed in group activities or programs. Must have general management experience of principles and practices of basic maintenance and upkeep of recreational vehicle (RV) campsite to include hookup, laundry/bathroom/shower facilities. Must have specialized experience which may have been gained in the operation or management of a civilian or military recreation program at a recreation area. The experience must have included responsibility or supervision over various phases of operation such as inventory, budget, safety, maintenance, and staffing. Experience planning and programming of outdoor recreation activities is also required. Must possess a valid driver's license. Must have the ability to drive over paved and unpaved roads. Must possess (or be able to obtain within a reasonable amount of time) current and valid nationally recognized certifications for boaters safety, basic first aid and CPR which includes adult, child and infant procedures, food handler's certification and DRAM shop training. Must be able to work an irregular tour of duty to include nights, weekends, and holidays. May be asked to live on property in the absence of a Camp Host and will pay to cover rent and utilities at a rate to be determined at the time of need.
